Worried About My 5 Year old...

I don't know if I'm being a mother hen or something, but I'm really worried about my daughter...She's 5 now, and in the past couple of months she's been tired, all the time. Always wanting to nap, very sluggish...That alone is enough of a concern to me, since she's usually the energy bunny. She's also been having random nosebleeds. Just out of the blue, her nose will start bleeding. And not just a little bit, but really, really bleeding...I know I had problems with nosebleeds when my nose would get dry and I'd get dehydrated, but this is becoming a normal thing, like once a week or so.

I've made a doctor's appointment for her next week, but I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what this might be..I was thinking it might be anemia from iron deficiency, but that still doesn't explain the nosebleeds.

If you think she may be anemeic try feeding her beef, broccoli, spinch, and other iron-rich foods and see if it makes a difference. Hope it isn't anything serious!

I'm anemic. I have been my whole life. I get nosebleeds like crazy. I had the exact stuff your daughter is having. Its a good possibility. I hope everything is OK! :-)

Ok...I've been reading on nosebleeds in children and have been getting everything from leukemia to picking your nose...Nothing like that to freak you out a bit. I'm hoping that it's the anemia...

Oh wow! Yeah that's why I don't like to look stuff up on the interwebs. I prefer asking the doctor or other people with kids. I get freaked out too easily. Lol. Don't worry too much. I'm sure its nothing serious :-)

I get freaked out too...Especially when I'm reading through all the serious conditions that can be related to nosebleeds...As if I'm not freaked out enough! I'm not going to worry about it until next Monday...She has an appointment then, so we'll see....
