smoking while pregnant.

posted 21st Nov
Ill be 22 weeks. And i just cannot stop. :/
Ive tried quitting alot.. The most ive went is 3 days. But those three days were hell. All i did was stress out. Shake. Cry and yell.
It doesnt help that every peraon in this house is smoking. Outside, but i can still smell it inside and horribly when they came in.
I want to quit. But the addiction of its making me not want to if that makes sence.

I dont know what i expect out of this... But im upset and need to vent i guess.

I just cut back gradually until I quit. Both times.

I don't think you can quit cold turkey anyway. It can give your body a shock and put you and baby in danger. Just cut back a little..

No i live with my husband and in laws.
I tried getting my husband to quit with me.. But he wont. I think it would help if i had that support person with me besides everyone smoking.
I have cut back quite a bit tho!

People don't recommend you going cold turkey. It will stress you and baby out. Cut back gradually

Cut back as best you can.

If it were me in that situation, if everyone else was smoking I honestly don't think I would have been able to quit.

SO quit along with me when we found out I was pregnant and we don't live with any smokers or anything.

Cut back slowly. You're not really supposed to quit cold turkey.

I quit smoking right away because my NURSE told me its going to be worse for the baby when he/she is born because they will have to overcome a nicotine addiction. So it's either you suffer or her, I thought it would be selfish so I quit. No judgement here.... Just repeating what I was told. I'd try your hardest.

I didn't quit until I was 28 weeks because I found it so hard, but even so I cut down to like one or two a day. Just take it slowly, try cutting down first, don't just stop altogether.

I'm sorry to hear he won't help you quit. I hope you can keep cutting back till you eventually stop. Have you tried other things to help your stress? Walking helps my stress a ton. Exercise in general.

I would just cut back gradually. With my first baby I couldn't stop right away but cut back gradually until I quit all together. With my 2nd baby the smell made me soooo sick I didn't even want to be around other smokers.
Just try your hardest and don't get yourself down about it.

The day after I quit at 22 weeks, I had a preterm labor scare. At this stage quitting gradually or nicotine replacement is the safest way to go.

You can't quit cold turkey. You just have to gradually cut back I did its hard but not impossible. My fiance still smokes and its still hard sometimes but your will power gets stronger
