I started just smoking halfs then eventually gave my self a limit per day if that doesnt work maybe try the electronic ones?

I am 20 wks and having the same problem i feel like i just cant quit i feel selfish and horrible. but when i do try i get all sick and head aches ect. I do want to quit but just dont know how im going to do it. I know its not fair.

me too the second i saw the test day pregnant i quit cold turkey. i dont know why it was so easy for me i didnt want one or anything. SO & his parents smoked i was aound it every day but was fine. i reconmend you slowly quit your 22wks and that will cause to much stress on you and baby.
take 1-2 cigs away each day or just smoke half of the cig and then wait a lil longer till you smoke the rest.

I had to cut back gradually, no way was I going to be able to stop cold turkey. I was smoking more than a pack a day, and would take more away every week. Took me about 2-3 months to be done all together. My baby is perfectly fine. It's definitely a process, and now that I have stopped all together, everything body else's smoke makes me feel sick. I still nic, but it's nowhere near as strong. Have husband or somebody take a few out each week/two weeks.

I wasnt going to quit. I was planning to cut back alot but then I got a chest cold and couldnt smoke. Now I dont want to. I cant stand the smell of smoke anymore. But my doctor told me its best not to quit cold turkey because it can cause your body to go into shock which is horrible for the baby. Cutting back gradually is the best. You can also talk to your dr about prescribing a stop smoking aid, like chantix. Its better for the baby than smoking, after all.

Im going to talk to the doctor about it! My next appointment is the 28th so ill see what he says and what he can do to help!

i am the same way and i do so good when its just me and the kids here my husband smokes and he wont smoke around me if i ask him i dont no why but when hes home i smoke more i was with my best friend all day today and didnt smoke not one i didnt even want one but as soon as i came home i wanted one if i would just say no when i think of a smoke i no i could do it..good luck to you....

I'm not saying by any means that smoking is ok when your pregnant but I smoked with all three of my kids because I just couldn't kick the habit. My kids weighed 8lbs 2oz, 11lbs 1oz and my 2 1/2 month old was 10lbs 2.5oz. None of my kids show any signs of health issues related to smoking while pregnant. Just keep cutting back and good luck mama!!!

Oh girl I'm 20 weeks 4 days and I have been smoking the whole pregnancy. Around 7 weeks I quit and then around 10 weeks for some odd reason I just picked up again and I don't know why.. I'm trying to cut down again but I agree it is really really hard. I found that thinking about the baby breathing in the smoke and her coughing up a storm in there because of me helped me cope with it and made me cut down a lot. You gotta say to yourself how much you're hurting your baby.. sometimes it is the only thing that can help you quit.

You sure can, I did. I smoked weed and ciggs and quit cold turkey.
