Question about spotting

I'm about 4 1/2 months postpartum and about 8 weeks pregnant. I was told to expect cramping but I spotted (very light) twice this week. I did with my first but that was in the first couple of weeks, not 2 months. Did any of you have this problem? I called my doctor - I'm waiting for a call back. Could this be the start of a miscarriage?

It could be. It could also be nothing. I've spotted off and on throughout this pregnancy so far.

I had a miscarriage on thanksgiving on an airplane. Ruined my jeans and had to sit in them for hours before I finally got to my families house. It's been a pretty bad week
