Reiki or healing touch for depression?

Has anyone ever had either of these and it helped with depression? I'm considering going to a doctor about being mildly depressed lately but I am not at all interested in taking medication. Is this something I should look in to first? Anyone with any experience with something like this?

Reiki is smurfing phenominal. I would recommend that to anyone, depression or not.

I've never had it on a regular basis.... but I could see it being worth a shot!

I've known about it for a while but haven't really looked into it (mainly because I don't like trying new things, lol). I just had a chair massage at work and the girl does Reiki and healing touch along with massage. It's like $65 an hour but she does a discount if you buy a package. I might try it first and see if I like it.

I would definitely try it first and see if you like it! I had a reiki session during pregnancy and it was fantastic, I didn't really know what to expect. But it was so relaxing.

The woman started at my head.... DD was sleeping. The second she put her energy near my belly.... DD started dancing like crazy.

What do they do? lol, this sounds silly but, do they like touch/massage you, with their hands, or like what? haha
