Flu/pregnacy

My husbands family is coming in town today. Our plan was to spend the entire day with them, and they were all going to go with us to our u/s today. Anyways, his sister coming out has the flu, and the rest of the family has been sitting in the car with her for 5 hours driving here. I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and have a 3year old daughter, both of us haven't got our flu shots or anything. Do you think we should cancel the day all together with them, or do you think it'd just be fine to still go through with plans but keep our distance and bring lots of hand sanitizer?

I am a germ freak and would stay away, or keep far distance.

I would stay away. Flu during pregnancy sucks. Ob specifically mentioned to stay away from people that I knew had it, because it can turn out really bad.

Cancel! Idc what day it is, if she sick and theyve been around her id stay far away.

Cancel! Was in the ER yesterday 3 hours for contractions because of it! Don't mess around its bad this year!

She was visiting her parents from college, and got sick over there.
Idk, I really wish they hadn't though, now everything is messed up   My poor hubby was so excited to see his family. I don't want him going over there either because if he gets sick he's going to give it to us.

u will be fine! u had the flu shot   im prego and had the flu twice and bronchitis so far . im getting my flu shot soon but had to wait til my flu was over . as much as it sucks to have a flu when preg im fine ... U should be ok

I haven't had the flu shot, neither has my daughter.

Isnt it possible to carry the flu virus for like a week or two before showing symptoms? If so, having his other family members over wouldnt be a good idea either.

I found this on the CDC website. I would just cancel or if they insist on being around shower then mask up and use lots of hand sanitizer. It sucks.
