good read, I recognized a lot of the excuses my doctor told me why I had to induce with my daughter :/ Wish I had known better then.

One of the Dr's at my Doctor's office saw that I have gotten to the hospital dilated to an 8 & 9 with my previous pregnancies and said we should induce at 38 weeks so that doesn't happen again.   Um, no.

“Your baby is breech. You need to have a C/S”

This one caught my attention. Mainly because when I was in labor with my last pregnancy, my doctor kept reassuring me baby was NOT breech.

I wouldn't hear of it. I still demanded an ultra sound, and low and behold, Francis was indeed Breech.

The option of them flipping baby never came up in discussion, and the thought never crossed my mind because of how many people told me how painful it was. I never did research it for myself to find out if it was true or not.

Within 5 minutes of that last ultra sound, my water had broke.

we DO NOT want that to happen again, we want you to labor here, be miserable, increase your chances of an intervention, be chained to a bed, make it more likely you get an epi, and increase your chances of a c-section

WAY better that way

I didn't get that option this last time because of the VBAC. And I did read it was painful, but a section is also VERY painful. And often they give you an epidural for the version. The risk is that you might go into labor with it... but if you were already in labor... lol

Yeah, I was already in labor. A last minute ultra sound is something I have always demanded with all of my pregnancies. Mainly because of what my sister went through on her second delivery.

I am a wimp when it comes to pain. My first born was all natural and very dry. So my last 2, I wanted it all. An Epi, and pain meds. So even when my water had broke with my last pregnancy, I already had pain meds and an epi.

Around here there are a few dr's that will even do breech deliveries and have never had a problem.

I loved the doctor I had back in Arizona. She was highly respected and genuinely cared for her patient's comfort. There weren't a lot of doctors in that particular area that holds the same rep. Because she knew my husband, she allowed him to assist in the delivery (as long as baby wasn't breech, which Alyssa wasn't) She was a big joker too. She was stitching me up as my epi was wearing off, and I was able to feel it. Not badly, but I could feel the sting. So at one point I said, "Ouch" she told me, "Quit being a baby, you're almost done, I just have 12 more to go. I am putting extra ones in there per Aaron's request."   On my last appointment with her (before moving to NM) I told her that I was going to bring a rope as a kidnapping joke, but I didn't think a judge would find that funny.

I know, I got off thread. Sorry.

That is soooo true! I preach to anyone about having a doctor you completely trust. I hear about crappy doctors all the time from my husband. When it comes to Doctors (IMO) there are 2 kinds. The one's who are in it for the paychecks, and then there are those who are doctors because they care.
