progress

posted 21st Nov
At 34weeks what progress, if any had you ladies made. Dr. checked me for the first time today, I'll be 35 weeks on Sunday. He said he wasn't worried enough to put me on bed rest but to lay low for 2 weeks, till I get to at least 37wks. I'm not dilated at all, but 50% effaced. I feel like I could stay this way for weeks though. I just don't want a preemie baby ): ( no one does..obviously, but you get what I mean)

Wait, what? Noooo. Just no.

37 weeks is term. 40 is full term. A pregnancy is 9 months, not 8.

no 40 weeks is full term. but they want you to at least make it to 37 weeks. OP i'm sure your baby will hold out a little longer just take it easy! not to much longer for either of us!

Absolutely. I don't see how anyone could think that. 36 weeks is only 8 months. How could that be "full" term, when a pregnancy is 9 months?

Like smurf it is. A pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. Thus, 40 weeks is full term.

My ob actually tried to tell me that 37 weeks was full term. I was like, uhhhhhhhhhno. No it is not, sir.

are you sure your doctor didn't say "pre term" and you just misunderstood?

I was 3.5 cm and 50% by 33 weeks with my son and he managed to hang in there with bed rest until 37 weeks.

At 32 weeks, I was 2 cm and she gave me the "take it easy" speech but the next week, I was grounded.

Just try to take it easy and let your doctor know if you start cramping more or have bleeding.

Good luck!!

But in regards to the OP, I was both dilated and effaced with all of my children by week 37. Never had a baby before their due date. Hope she stays in a little longer.
