eye patch

posted 21st Nov
So I've been horrible and haven't kept up on my daughter's eye patching. BUT i'm on the good foot now and I am determined to do it every day now.
It's a pain though. She hates it. I can only imagine how big of a pain it is having only one working eye and they trying to work out the bad eye for an hour.

Does anyone have any tips to make it easier? We have the nextcare eye patches because the cloth kind over the glasses didn't work. I've drawn a picture on the patch to make it fun-she doesn't really care about it. I've given her a lolipop to make it better but she ate that super fast and now we're playing video games on pbs but it's still driving her nuts!!

go for a walk or something. I wouldn't want to play video games with one eye.

The point of the patch is to make the eye stronger that doesnt have the patch and they want you to do those sorts of things to work the eyes...like video games, close coloring and schoolwork kinda stuff, playing on the ipod. Stuff like that. When tehy are outside playing and running around the patch is doing nothing so i take my daughters off.

I dont really have any tips because my daughter is almost 7 and wears hers everyday at school she just leaves it there in her desk. She got her glasses just before summer and they wanted to try patchiing well that didnt work so well because it was summer right...she was always outside not doing school work and video games all the time. But now that shes back in school she wears it everyday, and we go back in december to see if its helped if not then we just live with the fact that her eyes arent getting better.
I soooo hate that she has glasses! Just let her know that the patch is helping her and may make her eyes better, and that she is lucky she gets to wear one and no one else does!
