weaning

My daughter is 14 and a half months and started sleeping 12-13 hours straight at night a few days ago. She doesn't want to nurse during the day, every once in a while she will nurse before nap or before bed, but lately it has been once every 24 hours. Does it sound like she is weaning? My plan is to let her self wean when she is ready

Maybe a nursing strike. She's still pretty little to want to wean. I think 2 and 1/2 is the average age for self weaning. But anythings possible. I'd just continue to follow her cues. My 17 month old still nurses a lot.

Niklas self-weaned just after his second birthday but he did cut down drastically around 18 months. He went from 3-4 sessions down to only nursing in the morning when he woke up and even that was mostly cuddle time that he wanted. She might be doing a strike but she also might just be cutting back to once a day now.
