Eggs popping in ovary

My sister just came home from the ER and say's that the ER told her that on of her eggs popped in her ovary. She was having very bad side pains and thats what told her to go in?

What could it actually be? They didnt give her a specific diagnosis.

She says "No they said it was an egg"

That would be a cyst I assume.


Eggs are extremely small. Cysts hurt like a bitch when they rupture.

This cysts commonly form around eggs in the ovary.

I've never heard of that? But I've have cysts rupture before and it's horrible pain!

If you google eggs burst in ovary only thing I am seeing is ovulation

I told her it more than likely was a cyst. They did a CT scan and everything... idk. lol
