Quoting Jennybananna:" My husband was home for 4 weeks and I just had my oldest cuddle me when i was feeding the baby. There are times I had to interrupt a feeding to address her but for the most part she was pretty good. "My husband won't be able to take any time off and that's what has me a little worried. My son hates cuddling or being confined in anyway. He has to go nonstop all the time. I can put a movie on and put him in his playpen and he'll watch the whole thing but I can't stand doing it. I hate putting him in front of the tv and try to do it as little as possible. My husband may be able to use a day or 2 of vacation but that would be it When our son was born he was off 3 days, I think. I took 5 weeks but it was unpaid and this one will be too. My dad came down from up north last time and stayed for a week and helped me but he probably won't be able to do that again this time. I'm gonna be completely on my own.
Quoting Brink:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Reise's Mommy:</b>" Just curious, for the mommies out there ... [snip!] ... Dh was going to take 2 weeks off but just took a long weekend since I didn't need him there to help. It has been easy peasy"

Its hard to explain but its just kinda a natural adjustment.
Quoting Just Niki:" If I was nursing, we'd read a book or color. Something quiet that I could do while sitting and with one ... [snip!] ... As for the rest of the time I can't actually remember how I survived. Lol It really wasn't that difficult, you adapt quickly."I wish he would sit and do any kind of activity He likes to run, pull clothes out of the dressers, empty cabinets (the only and only one with a cabinet lock, anyway), empty my purse and play in the cat food bowl, and climb. Those are about the only things he'll do that keep him occupied longer than 30 seconds or so. He'll play with a NEW toy for 15 or 20 minutes but after that he won't touch it anymore. He also gets incredibly frustrated very quickly if he can't make the toy work the way he knows it's supposed to. Like if he can't fit a square into a round hole or something he gets mad and throws everything within like 10 seconds.
Quoting BC Mama:" DS turned 2 17 days before his brother was born. SO stayed home with me for two days and then was out ... [snip!] ... a lot of movies. But once we got into a routine it started to get easier. My house is usually a mess but my kids are happy. "
Quoting Reise's Mommy:" I'll be in the middle of my last semester of college when I have this baby, other wise I wouldn't really ... [snip!] ... being away from my son kills me He's stayed the night other places plenty of times but for some reason this feels different."My daughter was there for labor and delivery and about 4 hours pp. Then my FIL flew in and stayed the night with her we went home the next morning. My hospital wont allow anyone to stay overnight except 1 person (dad, or other adult support)

Quoting BC Mama:" I'm pretty sure you can nurse with certain slings. My water broke at 7 in the morning and my sister ... [snip!] ... of the hospital 2 hours later. So we didn't really spend that much time away from DS. He actually slept with us that night lol"
