How do you and SO/DH split holidays?
Do you go to his families one year, yours the next?
Do the holidays at your house and invite everyone?
Celebrate on one day with his family, another with yours?
Got to both on the same day just diff times?
DH and I agreed to switch off years, if his family has us for Thx Giving one yr my family gets us for xmas that same year and it switches the next year.
Well this will be DS' 3rd christmas and we have NEVER spent Christmas with my family. This year we are spending Thanksgiving with his family since we spent it with mine last year. But DH is saying we can't spend Christmas with my family this year.
But anyways, how do you do the holidays?

I don't have any living family. That makes it super easy.

Myself and the kids have nothin to do with his family. And they live a few hours away. My family live here so it's pretty easy.

Well this year for Thanksgiving my mom has to work so we celebrated early with her on Sunday. And on Thanksgiving day we'll go to DH's mom's house. But I get along great with my in laws so it wouldn't matter either way.

My parents have spent the last two holidays in England and they now live there and his dad lives in Virginia (we are in CA and AZ before) and his mom is in AZ. The first year was insane our oldest was 6 weeks old we did xmas eve and early xmas morning at his moms, then drove two hours to my parents spent the rest of xmas day and boxing day with them then came home and his dad flew in the next day. Now that we live in CA no one ever comes to see us so no worries. This year we are going to AZ (ty southwest for 40% airfare) We will do xmas eve with my grandparents and xmas day with his mom.

I wish we had easy holidays. :/ It's always a fight deciding where we go and I always lose. We've spent basically every holiday with his family since he has the job, liscence, and vehicle. I always lose the battle.

We switch every year but we still pass by both to say "hello, happy ___" to the one's we aren't spending the holiday with. We only live like 15 mins away from his family so passing by both isn't a big deal.

It always depends on the families sometimes DH's family will celebrate on a different day than the actual holiday so we can easily be with both families. Other times we end up running the roads all day to make it everywhere in one day and by the end of it I'm ready to pull my hair...DH stresses me out when we have to do everything in the same day because he never stops bitching about everything. I swear he was supposed to be born a woman.

We usually stay with my family for holidays, this year though we are having 2 dinners on thanksgiving. We are going to Jordan's Oma's house [his grandma, Oma is grandma in dutch.] around 3, and we'll be eating around 4. Then we'll come back to my grandmas house and eat around 7.
For Christmas this year we are just staying home because we will have a newborn.

We do ours on different days, usually. His dad's side of the family always does Thanksgiving on Thursday and so does my side, but his aunt and I had some issues at the beginning of the year and my husband told her she will no longer be seeing him, myself or our children, so we no longer attend his dad's family's functions. His mom's side does things on Saturdays so we just do my family's stuff on the day of and his family's stuff on the weekend.
If you guys haven't seen your family for the holidays you really should this year. That's not fair
