Quoting HopingforaMiracle:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Devil Duckie:</b>" oh, you must. I'm probably partial since He's my favorite author. "</blockquote> To be honest I didn't know it was a book lol"
Neil started out as a comic book author. He wrote for DC Dark Horse. His most famous series is called "Sandman" It's about the 7 aspects of humanity. Very clever, witty and dark. He worked with the most talented artist and the art is breath taking.
In the past 10 years or so he started writing children's books based on his daughter's dreams or stories they'd make up.
Coraline, I sold my dad for 2 goldfish, the wolves in the walls Are all equally creepy but toned down for kids (probably because growing up with Neil as a dad makes your brain just as delightfully dark.)
If you don't like screwed up character's and dark story line, they won't be for you. I happen to devour and appreciate everything he writes. Coraline is one of my all time fictional girls. She's exactly what I imagine my daughter's personality to be like. She's much more polite and cautious than Piper, but I think the balance Of my fearless take charge curly headed cutie, and her more problem solving throughtful little sister would be fantastic.
