3 year old STILL coughing

My 3 1/2 year old is still coughing 3 weeks after her cold. I am unsure what is going on. She has had to fever and has been acting fine aside from the cough at night. I'm worried this may be something more than just the after effects of a cold.

I have an appointment with her Pedi on Friday.

Has anyone else had a child cough for that long after a cold?

Just at night? Yes, that is really common around here. My daughter coughs at night forever after colds.

I just had my 9 month old in at the ER for pediatrics last week for a night time persitant cough since september, they told me that it is very common for babies young children and the elderly to have a persitant cough up tp 8 weeks after a cold or pneumonia etc....

So its normal. My lo had a chest xray done and nothing was found, so the Dr confirmed it was normal to cough that long.

did the cough go away and was it ever something more??? Because the doctor's were accurate, coughs can linger for quite a while in anyone especially children and the elderly who are the most immunocomprimised...

And was it just "bullsmurf" because it wasn't what you wanted to hear.

well within that 3 month period... he had ear infections on and off so they would try telling me since he had fluid in his ear, and when he would lay down it draining would cause the cough. well then there were times he didnt have any fluid so im like well thats not the issue then.then by the 3rd almost 4th month he got super sick and ending up needing a shot inthe butt of a super strong antibiotic and within 2 weeks of that the cough went away. it was just so weird how it went on for so long and no doctor would really say it was much else

She started coughing during the day too today. So I am going to see what's up at the Doctors on Friday. I know when I get a cold, my cough lasts for at least a month. But I am a smoker so I figure that's why.

Thank you for the reassurance though. I have been pretty concerned.
