Deviled eggs

Does anyone have any tips for boiling and peeling eggs?
I've made deviled eggs before, just sometimes they are half assed because it tends to be hard to peel them and I end up messing the outer part of the egg up. I don't wanna screw these up so I thought I'd ask!
Also, if you make deviled eggs, what do you put in yours?

Put the eggs in cold water, covering them about an inch above the eggs. Put them on the stove on high until the water boils (it usually takes 15 minutes or so). As soon as the water boils, turn off the heat and put a lid on the eggs for 12 minutes. Then run them through cold water and add ice to stop them from cooking. The eggs peel perfectly every time.
When I make deviled eggs, I just use mayo, mustard and salt and pepper - then sprinkle with paprika.

I always put them in before they start boiling so they don't crack, and then wait until it starts boiling really good and time them for 10 minutes. Pour out the hot water and put cold on them, let them sit for idk 5 mins.
Then I just put in mayo and mustard. Sprinkle w paprika.

sweet I think I have some vinegar I will try it. What does it do to help them peel easier? Also what does the ice water do? I read something that said to not put the eggs in the water until the water is boiled. But I don't know anything about that.
I use mayo and mustard too. Oh and sweet relish!

My dad says to put the eggs in a pot of cold water and heat it to a boil and the shells don't stick. He also puts salt in the water. Idk about all his egg cooking sorcery. I just take my egg, spin it. If it doesn't wobble it's done. Then I take the egg and roll it on the counter till the whole egg shell is cracked making sure not to crush the egg and find a good spot to start peeling the egg. If I don't smash the shell real good and try to peel big shell pieces I tear my egg up. I hate delived eggs that looks ugly.

Me too! It's kind of aggravating to cook them sometimes. I freakin hate peeling eggs. And once I tried to put the yolk mixture into a zip lock to nicely put it back in the egg and it looked like crap. Lol

I boil eggs every week and the vinegar thing did not work for me at all. The ice water stops them from cooking any longer.

Put eggs in water, let boil for a few mins then remove from heat, cover, and sit for 20 minutes.
I put mayo and spicy brown mustard in mine. So good! I have brought them to every cookout for the past 2 years. Always requested!

Am I the only one that puts relish in mine?

I ziplock bag my yolk back in the eggs. I put the baggie inside a cup to help it stand up so the yolk mixture goes straight to the bottom. Cut a small slice out of one corner and squeeze out.

Not had it in deviled eggs but have had it in egg salad and it was decent. It was the mustardy kind of relish. I would have preferred the bread and butter relish (sweet relish).
