A lot of people would probably think that's a little harsh saying you'd leave but honestly, I would too. I'd never compromise on that.

Hubby is and son is not...any future sons will not be either.

It's refreshing to see all the ladies saying their son is not.

I'm pretty harsh about circumcision. I wouldn't stay with a man who cut a strip of skin off my child's back for vanity. I see this as no different.

Honestly I would not compromise on that either BUT I also don't think I would be in a relationship with someone who thought circumcision was the right thing to do.
My SO is cut and hates it and did not want our Son cut... he did have to think about it a while though. At first him and I both thought we should then I did some research and realized that I could not get on board with doing it and SO soon agreed with me

I LOL at that. You know I see that reasoning being used for circumcising all of the time. Men who never lived with foreskin making choices either based on the fact "everyone else has it or the fact "its harder to clean". Which I can't imagine you would know very well if you have never had foreskin.

DH is European and circumcision is not a big thing over there. So he's not. And neither are our sons. We're both pretty against it.

I know what you are saying!
When people found out that we were not Circumcising our Son they told me ohhh its going to be so hard for you to keep clean. I thought ehh I can deal.

Moving on to when the baby had his first check up I asked the Dr if I need to do anything special I was not sure how to clean a non cut.penis.

The Dr said well you do nothing until the skin retracts on its own and for most boys that will not be until he is able to clean it himself, so you do nothing special!. He also told me that boys who are cut need a lot of cleaning during the time they heal... soooo it is less work to remain intact

Its is funny how pro circumcision people make it seam like a part time job to clean a penis! But then the Dr told me all that goes into cleaning a newly circumcised baby... that sounds like a lot of work!

You know being from the UK where Circumcision isn't performed unless for strict medical/religious reasons and about less than 3% of the population have it done I've never really understood American's fascination with doing it to their children. It is literally the only developed western country that routinely does this to their baby boys and I just don't get it BUT I could see that it has been part of the culture for quite some time so that is why it is such a hard practice to stamp out and distinguish the facts and fiction, however not anymore. I think curiosity got the better of me after reading the post on here advising to watch a video on it and I did, I wish I hadn't because it was honestly one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen. Oh yes it was an incredibly professional video, made for healthcare proffesionals to educate them, the Dr went through all the formalities and explained it was a cosmetic procedure only nothing else, everything went great and he was chatting away and everyone was very happy with the procedure and just acting like this is normal. Except it really really wasn't I never realised the baby is awake during the entire procedure, I never realised rarely is strong pain medication given and there is this child only days old laying there giving out the most blood curdling scream and painful cry I have ever heard. The entire thing was absolutely horrific and I honestly ended up in tears watching it. The Dr quite clearly had to state for legal reasons that this is a cosmetic procedure and nothing else and I have went from being quite calm about the debate to completely disgusted that anyone could put their child through this purely for cosmetic reasons. It is barbaric mutalation and nothing else, if anyone can put their tiny baby through something as horrible as that just for cosmetic reasons there is something seriously wrong in society. It is considered barbaric to mutilate a little girls genitalia but doing it to little boys is ok? Awful.

See I've seen such the negative aspect of not having it done. I've seen the pain that it's caused, and the hassle. It was so hard for him.

I just couldn't imagine NOT doing it to my children. To put them through that, I just couldn't do it. To live a life like that when it can easily be resolved in a small procedure. Yeah.

I've just seen to many negative things about it not being done to out weight the good that everyone thinks it is.
