bed 7:30pm then refuses to sleep.He'll No Im stressed

my 4 year old cries hysterics when its bed time. cries, tantrums screams to the point where he cant breathe. he says he is going to miss us, but we are two rooms away, we read him 3-4 books a night he has to sleep with a photo album of us in his bed and has to sleep with this bright big fake fish tank light on all night, bc he wakes up and if it not on he screams bloody murder. He also has 3 night lights on in his room and still complains it is dark, earlier last year he use to be petrified of lights, and wanted to sleep in the dark. he has a nightlight and pen lights in his bed.Help me, this is very frustrating to his father and i and it has been going on since about september. this is getting ridiculoius. we have tried staying in there til he falls asleep. leaving the tv on but he watches it and stays up all night being nice being mean, ignoring.. yelling threatening. we have tried eveyrhting. any sugestions?

What happens if you let him slep with you?

Well I was not talking about getting his way, I just wonderd if he was still scared if he was in your room, needing the flash lighs and things




Sound like he is very scared about being away from you, I mean he needs to sleep with a photo album! He cries till he can’t breath, do you think he is just trying to get his way? If so what is that he wants?

Has he had something bad happen in his life that would make him think he is going to loose you? Like did he stop seeing a grand parent or something?

Nah he sees his gran parents all time. sometimes his daddy and i have arguments now and again and my partner moved out of the apartment for awhile maybe he is scared that im gonna leave

Have you asked what he is so worried about? If you think that is what it could be then you can talk to him about it. Saying that you and Daddy will never do like other familys and move out.

Also I think you guys should try extra hard not to argue in a place that he can hear. Sounds like he is a sensitive LO. I think you should try talking to him and see if you can figure out what is making him so worried about missing you and his dad.   poor LO I bet you can figure it out if you think about it. Then try talking it through with him.
