Quoting Evelynns Mama!:" In Ohio they will keep him until the next time they can put him into court. So like if it's on a Friday/Sat, ... [snip!] ... someone in jail anyways for that? Like them being in jail is going to give anyone a chance to even make money for their kids. "in PA if you are found to have willfully not paid and disobyed the court order they will sentence you to 30 days in jail or an amount of money. My bd wanted to get smart with me in the court so the judge made him pay 2000 or 60 days in jail... you would be surprised how someone with 0$ come up with money before 5pm!!!
Quoting Vodka Knockers:" Honestly with him, jail is the best thing they can do. He thinks he can get away with this smurf, he thinks ... [snip!] ... a job when I first filed, etc. He needs something to snap him into reality and to realize he's accountable for his actions."
Quoting Leash25:" in PA if you are found to have willfully not paid and disobyed the court order they will sentence you ... [snip!] ... the judge made him pay 2000 or 60 days in jail... you would be surprised how someone with 0$ come up with money before 5pm!!!"I wish it was like that here.
Quoting Leash25:" he knew what he was doing. i'm sure he is living just fine... he could have even paid 20 but didn't want to. I hate a deadbeat!!!"Currently, he's living rent free with his girlfriend and her mother who doesn't make him pay bills. All those checks he's getting are going to whatever he wants them to.
Quoting Vodka Knockers:" I wish it was like that here. I can easily prove that he willfully didn't pay and disobeyed the court ... [snip!] ... changed addresses without informing Child Support Enforcement, he's repeatedly changed numbers without informing them, etc."
Quoting Lizplustwo:" Why don't you just have him sign over his rights to your husband?"He won't pay to terminate and I'm not paying to bail him out of his responsibilities when that money could be used for something better, like a second car so DH can get more shifts at work...
Quoting Lizplustwo:" He doesn't have to pay a thing, just sign a paper in front of a notary. That's what I ended up doing ... [snip!] ... wouldn't be split up from DH and his sister. But that's our situation, if that doesn't work for you I completely understand. "
Quoting Vodka Knockers:" I wish it was like that here. I can easily prove that he willfully didn't pay and disobeyed the court ... [snip!] ... changed addresses without informing Child Support Enforcement, he's repeatedly changed numbers without informing them, etc."He sounds almost identical to my BD. My BD went to jail back in May 2012 for failure to comply with the child support order. He had to pay like almost $ 600.00 to get out. Now we have another court date coming up because he's being held in contempt, for not paying
