in PA if you are found to have willfully not paid and disobyed the court order they will sentence you to 30 days in jail or an amount of money. My bd wanted to get smart with me in the court so the judge made him pay 2000 or 60 days in jail... you would be surprised how someone with 0$ come up with money before 5pm!!!

he knew what he was doing. i'm sure he is living just fine... he could have even paid 20 but didn't want to. I hate a deadbeat!!!

I wish it was like that here.
I can easily prove that he willfully didn't pay and disobeyed the court order. For months, he was in Job Corps getting 2 $37 checks a month. His housing, food, everything was provided to him. Job Corps even told him that if he would pay in $37 every month, they would match it to make it the full amount, $187. He chose not to do so.
Before that, he quit a job that paid $10 an hour.
He's repeatedly changed addresses without informing Child Support Enforcement, he's repeatedly changed numbers without informing them, etc.

Currently, he's living rent free with his girlfriend and her mother who doesn't make him pay bills. All those checks he's getting are going to whatever he wants them to.

you dont have to prove it. they have all the proof from him not paying. the judge I had in my case let my childs father lie and make excuse as to why he didn't or couldn't pay and then picked every story apart... all I had to do was sit there. so dont worry... the courts let men dig their own grave. he will have to answer for it, in front of a judge. trust me, when a judge sees a man who hasn't paid or tired to pay and is working they go hard on them!!!

Why don't you just have him sign over his rights to your husband?

He won't pay to terminate and I'm not paying to bail him out of his responsibilities when that money could be used for something better, like a second car so DH can get more shifts at work...

He doesn't have to pay a thing, just sign a paper in front of a notary. That's what I ended up doing because it just wasn't worth the headache anymore. Also, I wanted the security of knowing that if something were to happen to me, DS wouldn't be split up from DH and his sister. But that's our situation, if that doesn't work for you I completely understand.

He sounds almost identical to my BD. My BD went to jail back in May 2012 for failure to comply with the child support order. He had to pay like almost $ 600.00 to get out. Now we have another court date coming up because he's being held in contempt, for not paying
