Post Partum Hair Loss?

My baby girl is going to be 5 months next week...

....and my hair is STILL falling out!! I'm shedding worse than my dog! I don't remember ever having gone through this with my older child so it's starting to freak me out a bit.

Did anyone else have this? How long did it last for?

haha I was just about to post something like this! I don't remember my hair falling out this bad after my first. My baby is 4 months old and it seems like the past month I always have handfuls of hair after washing or brushing. It is gross!

This happened to me after I had my last son. I would make an appointment and get my thyroid checked as soon as possible. Especially if you are losing weight rapidly. Mine turned out to be cancer on my thyroid causing it to over work itself hence the weight loss and massive hair loss. It occurs mainly in women who have just given birth and are in their mid to late twenties. Does your heart feel like it is beating rapidly most of the time? It's a simple blood test get it done!

My hair fell out a lot until 8-9 months pp, it's normal!

The rapid weight loss isn't normal. I would just have them check to be on the safe side.

YES! I know what you mean. It's concerning when I'm taking a shower and wash my hands, and I have a handful of hair in my hand afterward. It has been freaking me out a ton! I'm so glad I'm not alone in this.

LOL! But I do kind of want to get my thyroid checked anyway. My sister has a thyroid issue....so maybe I should still get checked?
