if the "rule" was to give them double, then that's what the doctor would have prescribed. Hope your sister never gives her kids pain pills.

And it's normal for babies to run a fever after ANY vaccine.

did they have you wait in the clinic after they gave her shots? our clinic always has us wait about 15 minutes so they can see if there will be a reaction.

Infants can overdose easily. You give tylenol by weight.

This!
Please do not double any medication the dr orders...it can cause serious or fatal complications!

I don't want to give my kids flu shots either (one cant take it for allergy reasons) and his doctor looked at me like I was crazy when I told her this yesterday.

That is so interesting. I was told that babies can't have shots till 1 to 2 years old. That was a nurse doing shots tho where I work. My girls didn't get theres till they were one and didn't have a problem. As for the med. we usually go by what the doc says. after an hour to hour n half if it doesn't show any relief for your baby then thats when I would up it. my oldest weighs exactly for her age so she ges what the doc says. Our youngest gets a little less for her age group because she weighs less then she should and it makes me nervous. I hope it help. I hope your baby feels better.

oh lord dont do that. give what a dr says, and not a drop more. i even double check w a pham sometimes if the dosage sounds off to me, we all make mistakes. but never double what a dr says to give. i know she prolly meant that out of love, but you want to give the min dose, while still being effective. poor baby with the shots, but she should feel better in a few days, and the correct dose of tylenol will help

If she got the pnuemoccal (prevnar) and flu together it has a higher chance of getting a fever. They are safe to give together, but the chance of fever does increase. And which tylenol do you have/how much does baby weigh? DS had his 4 month shots today, and I have his tylenol right next to me
