Anxiety... what to do, what to do........

I had my 4th child 11 days ago   shes perfect in every way. My husband & I are both 100% sure we don't want anymore children. We cannot afford anymore, and will certainly make some more sacrifices with this 4th child thrown in the mix, shes our unplanned present! I have a Drs appointment next Tuesday for my "2 week checkup" and I will be talking with my Dr about having my tubes tied. (I signed all the proper documents when I was 30 weeks pregnant to have the procedure done) I knew if I would have ended up with another c-section they would have done it while they were in my belly... but, I had a successful VBAC. I had no clue they weren't gonna tie my tubes before I left the hospital after a vaginal birth. My Dr said it could be done around my 6 week pp checkup.
I'm having anxiety about going back to the hospital to have it done and I'm not sure if it's fear of a surgery or fear of never being able to have another baby.. even though, like I said before, I'm happy with 4 children... they keep me plenty busy! I just don't know, I'll sit and look at my new baby girl and just cry thinking about never being able to have another, having horrible thoughts about "what if something happened to my kids & my tubes were tied and I couldn't have another"... Ahhh I just wanna know if this is normal to feel this way or if I'm making a bad decision..... thanks ladies

It's normal to have aniexty abou big life decisions.

I have 4 kids also and I was going to get my tubes tied, but I backed out because it was too permanent for me. I just take bc pills now.

Have you considered letting hubby go under the knife? We're pretty sure this is it for us and DH is going to have the operation since I've been through enough lol.

Otherwise it's pretty normal. SIL had hers tied after she had her last baby and still feels weird about it.

And even though I know my husband and I couldn't handle another child, it makes me sad thinking this is our last baby too

Are you getting them tied or burnt? My older sister's best friend had her tubes tied and then went back in and they untied them later. I thought it was weird, but apparently a lot of people do that.

I know what you mean. My brother's girl friend's mom had 4 kids and all but 1 died in a fire. She later had 3 more after remarrying. It makes me not want to tie mine as well.

We have discussed it but now I'm really thinking about it. I know men can have it reversed for much cheaper that a woman. & tied or burned... I'm not sure which, I havn't talked to my Dr. about it in detail, is one way better than the other?
