my best friend is dead.

He tried to kill himself Saturday night by hanging himself. His brain went without oxygen for five minutes. He was just taken off of life support.

I have no idea what to do. He's been my closest friend for years. I never even knew he was thinking about suicide. I should have known I should've done something...

Sometime there are no signs, some people hide depression really well. Don't blame yourself hun.

You could say he went to heaven. Your son does not need to know how your friend passed

Of course I wouldn't tell him he committed suicide...I mean how do I tell him he's dead..

Just tell him that he has passed away, but he will always be inside your son's heart. I think it's best to not lie about these sorts of things.
