DS hates the car seat.

posted 20th Nov
He cries. Nothing is poking him, he's fed, burped and changed before we go..Is this something that will pass? Any advice/tips?   I feel like a total fail.

My daughter was the same we. We stayed home ALOT until she grew out of it. Nothing worked except time.

Yep. Both of my kiddos went through a "I hate being strapped down" phase and I fully expect it eventually from #3. You do what you can to entertain them and just accept that they'll outgrow it.

I think every kid goes through that phase.
Well, with the exception of my DS but he's a total easy going baby.

How old is he?

Most babies do lol, I always had to keep toys in the car seat to keep them occupied. Things like this helped.

That's a European or UK seat. They don't have chest clips.

Nonetheless that baby isn't strapped in correctly still

Gives me anxiety looking at it.
Looks like one of the baby doll carriers.

They're made differently than our seats here and they have a requirement that in an accident the EMS must be able to get the child out with one hand.

I would think if there was a accident there would be no child to pull out with one hand...

No, not with the child in the seat like THAT, but with a child properly restrained, the UK/European seats are perfectly safe. Like I said, they are made DIFFERENTLY than US seat. IE, rubber backings on the straps to keep them in place, thinner straps placed wider on the shoulders. European seats are extremely safe and are even tested at higher MPH than US seats.

I *believe* if you are just visiting, it's fine to use a US seat in different countries.

If you were moving permanently, most countries have different laws about that permitting car seat usage.
