is it still CIO?

posted 20th Nov
DD is 4 months and gets very over tired very easily. I try to get her to nap every 2 hours ish but sometimes she fights it tooth and nail. I know shes tired because shes rubbing her eyes and yawning. She just cries when shes like this, i tried swaddling, walking her around, holding her... even her swing doesnt put her to sleep anymore. she just cries. after 20 mins of her screaming in my ear i put her in the swing, she fusses/ cries for a min then out cold for an hour. So i know shes fighting it and not just crying. of course i always feed her, check her diaper and try to get her to fall asleep on my but it never works out that way. i feel so bad, but it seems like shes always crying her self to sleep. i hate it. i dont know how else to help her sleep.

i wouldnt consider that CIO..

your not letting her scream for hours.. when my babies got like that, i would lay them down a for a few mins too. we BOTH needed a break at that point and were tired and they sually fell asleep

I don't think that's CIO. But why are you having her nap every two hours? She's probably growing out of that schedule is all.
I mean think about it, I'd you get too much sleep it doesn't put you in a better mood or mKe you feel less tired. I would try to spread her naps out a little bit.

its not every 2 hours on my scheduel. she starts rubbing her eyes and yawning about that point. i wont put her down unless i see signs that shes tired.

when she gets like that instead of trying to get her to sleep. play with her for another 45 mins and then try... by around 4 months old my babies always started to stay away MOST of the day. at 10 months im lucky if my son takes a couple hour nap during the day. just 1

lucky! mine wont nap unless we are in the car, or unless they are very tired and just crash. they go to bed EARLY though to make up for lack of naps.

oh man im super jealous!

when mine were younger they did that. but once emmalynn hit 4, she stopped napping, and annabelle wouldnt nap either so i gave up even trying. they are in bed by 7. (sometimes even earlier if they are super cranky and obviously in need for bed time) and sleep till about 630-7.

My kids, 6 years and 22 months, still nap three hours a day if we have time and are in bed every night by 8 and up at 7. Althought my 22 Monty old still wakes frequently to nurse.

Op, just don't put her down when she starts to act like that. She might just be bored, that can happen. When she starts to act that way try to change the activity and play with her or read to her or something. Then try getting her to nap an hour or so later.
