Sweet Potatoes for Thanksgiving

posted 20th Nov
Every year I make a sweet potato casserole dish for Thanksgiving. It has a crunchy crust with pecans on top. People generally love it but I have been informed that I need to make a more traditional sweet potato dish (you know, with the marshmallows on top) and seeing as I cannot stand them that way, I don't know how to make them. I have no desire to make them. My mother told me that I had to... Gag me. She was also kind enough to tell me that if I wanted to, I could still bring the ones I make in addition to the gross ones (sorry to anyone who likes them).

Anyway. How do you make them? I'm half tempted to just dump a can of those sugary sam things into a pan and douse them with a bag of marshmallows and be done with it. But another part of me wants to actually put a little effort into it. Any suggestions?

I say just google it. I totally agree with you btw. I prefer the ones without marshmallows. Picky, picky!

Ewww I hate those too.
DH complains because I never put marshmellows in my sweet potatoes.
Why? I don't get it.

I don't see WHY you HAVE to make "traditional" ones. I mean... yours are traditional, technically, because you make them every year!

Eww. I hate that kind. I am all about pecans and brown sugar on top. Yummy. I would totally be a rebel and tell them to make it themselves. LOL! Mean I know. LOL!

Apparently, they're more like a dessert and don't go with dinner....

Hahaha! I protested. I think I was more offended that she insinuated that my regular recipe was optional lol.
