It's a public hospital.

Is it easy to fight a doctor out there?

Most people trust their doctors.
Not everyone has the ability to hand out money.

I assume the doctor justified the issues as being something else.
If I were given tests and my dr told me I was good, I would do exactly what she did, which is go home thinking the symptoms would go away and then if they didn't, go BACK to the doctor.

It's easy to say "Oh I would have forked out 5k out of pocket for an MRI, but you really don't know what you would do in that situation.

No, not for something like that. The wait was because he didn't find it suspicious and told her to come back for medical review in 3 months. She was straight in for all testing basically when they realised the threat.

lol no. You have a lump in your breast and bloody discharge from your nipple. I would not just take it with a grain of salt that everything was all great just because the doctor said. It's not about trust, doctors make mistakes, too.

So the doctor may have been negligent and she is suing the gov't because of universal health care, correct?

The wait had nothing to do with universal Heath care issues.

I really don't care what the reason is, you cannot say "Oh my son went in for a knee surgery and they accidentally turned the knob too far on the anesthesia and he died, but doctors make mistakes!!!"

This is a BIG mistake that is costing someone their life.

Bloody nipples, sure she should have went and forked out the money.
But again, bloody nipples and the DR didn't do tests?

It's medical negligence. End of story.

She's suing the government because it was a public hospital. The government owns the hospital.

I'm not disputing that it's medical negligence. Nowhere did I dispute that so I'm not sure why you're trying to debate that issue with me.

Oh, you specifically said she was suing the government, (which I didn't think to mean hospital). So I went off of your word because I didnt read the article and you summed it up. The hospital is different, and yes, I agree with her choice to do so.

Not sure what you are asking then? It appears that you are asking what our thoughts are on late diagnosis of this and the woman's decision to sue???

Is that not what your post is about?
