I totally understand. It was hard for me to wrap my head around the concept that I would be safer out of hospital than in one....but, I am so thankful for my out-of-hospital birth and my amazing midwife who took such great care of my baby and me.
The very reason that something could go wrong is why it is important to have a trained midwife there to help you who is experienced in twin birth. Here is a link to a study on the safety and track record of The Farm Midwives:

Certified Professional Midwives at The Farm have the ability to carry oxygen, IV, pitocin, etc. and are certified in neonatal resuscitation. They are prepared to address any rare complications with life saving first response and appropriate transfer to obstetric back up.
