For those who get child support and the parent gets visitation, do you allow them to see the child when they don't pay their child so support?

Just curious because I still saw my daddy even when he didn't pay but I have a friend on fb that's saying her bd won't see their kid until he pays up.

Is that even legal if the visitation is court ordered?

Well, I hope he smartens up and takes her BACK to court for contempt.  .

Child support AND visitation are not one in the same and withholding a child because money is disgusting and selfish.

People do it, but it's generally not legal. Child support and visitation are two separate issues.

That's not right. It shouldn't be about money.

She can't legally keep the child from him. My BD hasnt paid but 1/2 a month since he was court ordered to, but my son still goes to visitation. I am legally obligated to send him unless there is a genuine concern for his safety. The childs father should file with the court for contempt if the mom refuses him his court ordered visitation. The dad could even go so far as to call the cops. If he has the custody arrangement in writing from the judge they may be able to help

If I were in that situation I wouldn't punish my child by not allowing them to see their father just because he wouldn't pay child support. That's not the kids fault.

She can be held in contempt of court if she does not honor the visitation schedule, whether he's paid or not.

I kinda figured, I thought of it as selfish also. I believe the father just got out of jail so Idk if there is a set thing or not. I'm still suprised she posted that on fb.

OP, no I would not keep my child away from DH if he did not pay CS.

My kids dads dont pay me anything and my 2 younger girls see their dad every second Sunday.

My 10 yr old dd, dad was supposed to pay me but he quit his job after he was ordered to pay me, at the same court date he lost his rights to her and I got full custody. So he never actually paid.

He does not really see her tho (anymore) his choice not mine. well was his choice now my 10 yr olds choice if she wants to see him, which she only goes to his house to see his gf and her half siblings, she refuses to talk to his dead beat ass. I dont blame her.
