This is my 6th pregnancy, always in the beginning I measure normal, then I measure big towards later on, my babies have also been 8-10lbs they induced me at 37 weeks bc he was so big.. So it has me puzzled why wld Measure big early in now?

I think a fundle (sp?) measurement is extremely unreliable this early.

I think inducing at 37 weeks because the baby is to big (although weights can vary by up to 2 lbs) is ridiculous.

Dr measured 12 weeks, it's very measurable bc I'm pretty thin and my uterus isn't tilting back, it's right below my belly button

fundal height is not very accurate. they could measure you tomorrow and you could be measuring behind.

I measured 2-6 wks ahead through my whole pregnancy, my DD2 is now 10 days old, came 1.5 wks early and weighed 8lb 8oz, 21 inches. They said if she went full term, she would have easily been over 9lbs. Glad she made her appearance early

I measured two weeks ahead for my last weekly appointments from 36 weeks on. They thought he would be 10lbs since Addison was born 9lbs..but he was a nice 8lbs 4ounces.   Measuring big doesn't mean that much.

I would think it was a little early to tell. And from what I was told and experienced with 2 births so far is that the babies birth weight is determined by the parents birth weight. I was 10lbs 5oz, father was 10lbs 15oz, 1st child was 2 wks early 9lbs 10oz, 2nd child was 4wks early at 7lbs 12oz. They said both full term would have been between 11 & 12lbs. They told me they gain approx 1lb per wk near the end so that all ads up. I am VERYYYYYYYYYYY glad they induced me and will defiantly be ready to go early with this one as well, I delivered both naturally & with no pain meds so I don't care to play with a 11 or 12lber at delivery
