Quoting M&D's Momma:" So employers can't hire based off what they project will happen onces OBAMACARE, but no one else can make projections. RIIIIGGGHHHTTTT!"

It's no longer a "projection" that health insurance prices are rising. Obama said that they would be lowered by $2,500 if we elected him president in 2008. In reality, they went up.

Only a moron would think Obamacare is going to lower prices. Go look at what Romneycare did to Massachusetts. It's the same model as Obamacare.

MA was spending 33% more than the national average before Romneycare and in 2 years, it increased an additional 23% (the national average being 6.5%). Insurers proposed premium increases to help cover costs, which were mostly rejected by MA regulators. Private insurance companies started closing down leaving big non-profit companies like Blue Cross and Harvard Pilgrim. The costs keep going up and since MA has decided they can't raise premiums, they've started rationing care.

Your graph is from 2009, ya know, the FIRST year Obama was president.

He hasn't even been bothered to have a budget since he was elected. He just spends whatever the hell he wants and by the time the economy collapses, he'll be long gone and his buddies pockets will all be lined with tax payer money. Enjoy

Again, if raising taxes is the answer to all, how did we have a surplus before we had an income tax?

I was talking about the last one you know the one that at the bottom says July 2011. The economy has stabilized from the rapid recession we were in starting in 2008, it doesn't take an idiot to see that. But it'll be nice to see your reaction when we all survive another 4 years with Obama as president.

When did I say or even imply that we won't survive four more years of Obama? My whole point is that he's done nothing for the economy. He doesn't have the slightest idea how to get things working again.

Here's what the founding fathers said about an income tax:
To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his father has acquired too much, in order to spare to others who (or whose fathers) have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, "to guarantee to everyone a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it."

" In 1817 Congress repealed these taxes, and for the next 44 years the Federal Government collected no internal revenue. Instead, the Government received most of its revenue from high customs duties and through the sale of public land."

In these years, we ran a surplus, with no income tax at all. 1861 was the first year of income tax and that was 3%-5% to pay for the Civil War. Income tax was then abolished again in 1872 when the war was paid off. It wasn't until 1913 that we had the 16th Amendment.

I heard a quote recently about how the excessive taxation that the Founding Fathers were trying to get away from in England was only 3%...is that true?

Yep. They started the Revolution over a 3% tax.

Also, income tax was only supposed to be there to pay for major expenses like the Revolutionary War and Civil War and then taken away. Government got greedy and put in the 16th Amendment, which in my opinion should be repealed.
