Headstart or pre-school
posted 20th Nov
How old does LO have to be to be in headstart and/or pre-school? I know a girl who put her DS in headstart when he was 10 weeks old, granted she was in high school and had to go back to school.
also how much does each one cost?
I would really like to put DS in pre-school or headstart as soon as he is old enough, i want him to have that interaction with other kids and start learning as soon as he can, i also plan on working with him at home.

Head start is just educational daycare. Where they teach kids instead of just watching them. Any age, I guess. I don't know about the cost. Preschool is usually at 4 years old and public is free.

The 10 week old was probably in day care, not head start. Usually to get into head star the child has to be at able 2 or 3 and potty trained and the same for preschool.

that would be day care not head start. you can do that at any time
head start here s normally through the school system. and is normally 4 year olds. and preschool is normally for 3-4
we pay 780 a year for preschool ds is 3. and goes 2 days a week.
I have seen some earlyu head start for kids 3 and under for low income families. but to be its just like daycare.

Head start here starts at 2, and is also free.
