early headstart

I'm considering putting ds in early head start. But I get so nervous when I think about him being away from me. It would only be for half a day, and he needs the interaction with kids his age. Can any body give me some info about early headstart?

My son started at 3 1/2 and it was the best thing we ever did! He started behaving better at home, he instantly decided to potty train and it gave me a break. I say give it a try!

We had to take him out temporarily due to my work schedule, but he is going back in January - I can't wait!

Crazy, for headstart here they have to already be potty trained. OP my son didn't go to headstart but I looked into it. I'm really no help

Is it the same age group? I know the older version which is basically pre-k, they ahve to be, but the one I take him to is for 3 - 4 year olds and they even offer free diapers if you are low income. We sent him in a pull up for the first few days, then he came home and said "no more baby diapers!" and that was it. We are still working on pooping in the potty, but I had been struggling with him on this for 6 months.

here the early head start is 0-3 yrs old. my ds is 2 the regular headstart is from 3-5

Dude, I wish we had that around here! At least where I am, there isn't a program for under 3.

Even at 2, though - I think it could be good for her. I mean, when I worked daycare, I taught the toddler group and aside from a select few, they all seemed to really enjoy the time around the other children and they seemed generally well rounded.

You can always put her in and if things go south, pull her out.
