Tablet

posted 20th Nov
DH and I got our 4-year-old son one of those Kurio tablets for Christmas this year...He's really into gadgets (my computer, nook, phone) and we thought this would be perfect for him, rather than wasting money on more toys that he'll play with for 10 minutes and never touch again.

Anyways, I read the reviews and they were kinda mixed (although seemingly better than all the other kids' tablets out there), so I just wondered if anyone else had bought this one and if so what they thought!

My son plays with my phone and nook all the time...he's obsessed with Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja, so I definitely wanted an Android tablet so he could get those. He's really advanced for 4 (he actually turns 4 in a week) and he's already bored with the Innotab his grandfather got him last year.

We were actually glad they were sold out of the leapsters and innotabs, the kindle has seriously entertained him. However, on the kindle, if your kid figures out the parental controls, they can purchase whatever they like. Like, a $40 audible book lol because your information has to stay on there. We are definitely looking into the meep, he can navigate our samsung tablet and our samsung phone very easily, so we would like to stick with android based devices.

What makes me happy is external parental controls..

Same here...we definitely wanted an Android tablet.

And I learned that same lesson the hard way when my son ordered a $30 security app for my Droid...Luckily they were understanding and refunded my money...

My 3 year old is too smart..

I do believe he cannot delete or modify. That was another problem we were having.(though he stopped after we took it away numerous times)

Im excited to get him something with a rubbery outside so I dont have to freak out. He can watch movies on there..then I can free up space on my tablet lol its mostly taken up by pixar movies.

I can suggest zubadoo books.. They are great little kids books. $2 a piece I believe. We have the three little pigs, the gingerbread man, ect.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback

I'm excited about the e-books because I believe that he could be reading soon...He already recognizes a ton of words by sight.
