Im pretty sure i found out whats wrong with me with the help

So for the last year I have been having what I thought was just another battle of tonsillitis and have pretty just ignored it. But I did some research and found out they may be something called tonsil stones. Never knew there was such a thing. So in order to take care of it I may have to have surgery and get my tonsils taken out. Which im kind of scared of doing because I have never had a surgery in my life. But the question is can I have my tonsils removed while being pregnant? or will I have to wait until she is born?

It says to wait until you are in your second tri and discuss it with your doctor.

Oh wow! I'm so sorry.. I had my tonsils and adinoids (sp?) Removed when I was 10. Its not too bad. I think they will wait until you aren't pregnant because they have to put you to sleep.

I wouldn't worry to much until you have a diagnosis through a doctor not the internet

You need to talk to the doctor. Typically they will try and wait until you aren't pregnant unless its necessary.

I have this very same issue. I have chronic tonsillitis and stones. I was going to have my tonsils removed right before finding out I was pregnant and now 8 weeks PP still have them. They wouldn't remove them with me pregnant.

tonsil stones suck...i have them and hate them. I have considered getting my tonsils out too. I would wait until you weren't pregnant.

I get tonsil stones.
I just get them out myself, I found a YouTube video that showed how.

They can cause issues, I have had some huge ones dislodge and I have pretty much constant pressure in my ears and headaches that the ENT Dr. said is from the stones. But it is unlikely that her insurance will pay for her tonsils to be removed just because of the stones. I have chronic tonsillitis, my tonsils are a mess, the Dr. said they are pitted and full of deep crypts from years of tonsillitis scarring them and that wasn't enough to get mine removed. With my insurance you have to have over 3 documented cases of strep throat or severe tonsillitis within 6 months before they will even consider removing your tonsils.

I have them too, but mine aren't painful. I wouldn't have a surgery just for that. Like the person above said, I just pop them out myself and am fine.

I am not worrying about it until i go to the doctor................................ The things that i am presuming are tonsil stones get so large my tonsils swell up to a large amount cause it to be hard swallowing ): not sure if my insurance will let me have them removed but its worth a shot im tired of always having strep and tonsillitis. the doctor told me i need to get them removed to lesson my chance of the strep coming back but at the time my insurance was really screwy and wouldn't let them do anything unless i had it 6 times in one year and had missed 7 days or more of school every time.

Do you ever wake up and find a semi hard ball in your mouth? Mine dislodge when I am asleep and I wake up and can feel something on the back of my tongue and it will be a stone. They are normally a white/yellow color and they smell horrid. They almost feel like having oatmeal stuck in your throat when they dislodge and work their way to your tongue. If you look closely at your tonsils sometimes you will see one poking out from a crypt. They make my ears and head hurt from the pressure and they do make my tonsils swell up really big too.
