38 week appointment

So I had my 38 week appointment today and all the doctor did was what they always do, check the heart beat and measure my belly. They didn't check to see if I was dialated or anything. Is anyone else this far and not been checked yet. I was really surprised and so was my mom that theu didn't check. I have Kaiser insurance and have not been happy through out my whole pregnancy. Just was woundering what some of your experiances and appointments have been like. Thanks

I got checked at 36 weeks when the did the group b test.

Im 37 weeks today and havent got checked yet but he said he will check me next week!

at 38 weeeks its your right to kno what your body is upp to~ TELL THEM TO CHECK YOUU NEXT TIME~~~GOODLUCK MAMA~

i'm 38.6wks (39wks tomorrow) and i had my 38 wks appointment today.

i got checked at the end of my 36th week when the did the strep b test.
he didn't check me the next week, cause he usually doesn't he said.
then today he checked me again.
and next friday he said he will check me again if i haven't gone into labor. and depending on what my cervics is doing we will talk about induction  

My insurance was just switched over to Kaiser and so far I haven't had any problems w/ them. Maybe it's just the doctor. I had my Strep B done last week when I was 35 weeks and when I go next week they are going to do a sonogram and he said he'd check me also.

I am from Stockton. I keep seeing different doctors and nurses. When I went in at 35 weeks they tried to say they didn't need to see me for 4 weeks which would of put me at 39 weeks. I said no way so they made one for 37 weeks and now every week until I have the baby. I know I am not close to labor thats why I didn't ask to be checked but at my next apointment I will deffanitly ask. The only reason I have Kaiser is because that's what my husband gets trough his job.
