Putting a few drops of breastmilk in the nose helps with congestion. saline also works. Lots of skin to skin. do you have a wrap or sling?
Also, steaming up the bathroom & sitting in it for about 10 minutes can help clear air passages. breastmilk provides lots of antibodies, so nurse nurse nurse!

I was told to buy a nasal spray with saline in it - it worked wonders when my son had a cold at a few weeks.
Also, in the UK we have Snuffle Babe which is like Vicks for babies, that is great too   or a few drops of tea tree oil in hot water

Duh, I'm all "in the UK we have..." then I notice you ARE here lol! Silly me!

Also, if they get a gammy eye I was told to drip breast milk in their eyes as it fights bacteria or wipe with cooled salt water/saline.

I have heard vicks can cause the nasal passages to close in babies. use with caution.

When I ran panicked to the pharmacy they told me to never use Vicks on or near babies because anything too strong can make them stop breathing - totally didn't know that so threw all Vicks out lol. Snuffle Babe is great, I usually put a bit on his back so it isn't too overpowering and a little on fabric near him.

Carvol is GREAT too but I think that's only OK from 3 months.

Also you could prop his cot up higher at one end. At the moment my LO's cot is like this and it is making it easier for him to breathe.

Saline drops are very good too.
