banana pudding?

DH wants me to make banana pudding to take to Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday. My question is, do you have any old secret family banana pudding recipes up your sleves??? I normally just buy the boxed kind and layer that with whipped cream and 'nilla wafers...so if you have any secrets as to how to make an awesome banana pudding, and you'd like to share, please do
