slipped up and smoked weed @ 6 months
posted 20th Nov
I used to smoke all the time before I got pregnant but when I found out at 12 weeks I quit. Now I'm 25 weeks and slipped up and took 4 small hits cause my back pain is horrible. Will this show up in my babys first BM?

Um no, lol. I think it can stay in your system up to a month? I'm not 100% though actually. As long as you vape though it's totally fine.

No it won't. You're fine.

IMO it will do far less than the vicodin your dr would have prescribed for the pain *shrugs* As for the first BM, I have no idea

People smoke it to ease morning sickness. Dont worry, it wont show

It won't show.

I think you should be fine, and weed is natural. I personally don't see a problem with it.

Not at all. I partake every now and then and every time I have an ultrasound they tell me the baby is textbook perfect.

I have never heard of testing for drugs through a BM, infant or not... Urine and blood, yes. Urine will be clean before blood will, so doctors usually draw a small amount of blood to test. However, you should still be fine. I am currently smoking and plan on quitting at 30 weeks. Some of my doctors advocate the use, but the hospital I will be delivering at does not.

I smoked every couple days before I found out at 10 weeks, then once or twice here and there I had terrible morning sickness. The only reason I don't even though I do believe it is harmless, I am huge paranoid freak, and the "high/buzz" wasn't enjoyable because I'd freak myself out about it. But I'm 28 weeks and my baby girls perfectly healthy

oh you will be fine! I know people that smoked the whole time and had healthy beautiful babies

Is your babies first bowel movement going to be tested? If so you can't smoke after 23 weeks. You will get rid of the drug from your system but 23 weeks is when your baby starts making their first poo inside them and the drug will show up in their first bowel movement. It don't matter if you smoke at 28 weeks and never again it will be there so if their first bowel movement is going to be tested....... I don't know anything about what they do in US hospitals but in the UK they don't just routinely test babies first bowel movements so unless there is somekind of child protection issue going on you should be fine.

Why are they drug testing your baby?
I smoked occasionally to help with morning with my first two pregnancies, and my kids are happy, healthy, smart kids. I haven't with this one but I'm sure it will happen before he/she arrives.

I smoked occasionally and to be honest smoke a few weeks before my girl was born cuz Tylenol was NOT helping and it was out of my system. BTW my baby came out perfectly fine!!! [; Marijuana isn't a drug its a herb!
