Hopefully I hear back from my nurse tomorrow.

the tech wont tell you my son has a cleft lip and I didn't find out until I saw my doctor a week later and they ordered an emergency 3d u/s and you can def tell I'll try and figure out how to post a picture of it so you can see what it looks like.

My son was born with a Cleft, he's 16 months now. Honestly, if you were to see a picture of your baby..meaning 4D if they feel it's necessary, you might not be able to tell yourself. At 4 1/2 months pregnant they told me my son would be born with a Cleft, I did the 4D ultrasounds maybe 6 times after that, got pictures, and I still couldn't even tell..they were close up pictures to his mouth too. So, if the techs don't see it, chances are, you wouldn't be able to tell either. I have a picture of that 4D picture on my blog, if you'd like it let me know. I'll send you the link to my blog so you can see.

Coming from someone who was born with a cleft lip and palate, these days it is very possible that you can tell in the ultra sounds. It's no guarantee, because sometimes it's hard to tell in the womb unless you are getting the really high tech ultra sounds (but even then). Regardless if your child is born with one or not, I'd try not to worry to much about it. The worrying can just put to much stress on you and the baby and even if it happens... There is so much better technology these days to help your child once born. I no it's not something you'd wish on any child, but unfortunately it happens.
