16 Month Old Not Standing on his own or walking

My son just turned 16 nonths,today he is 20 pounds he walks around furniture crawls he has had a Gt.walker since he was 6 months now he gets off and on the walker when he wants too he has a Little tikes toddler bed and know how to climb up and get down safely never fallen
He is active but doesnt try to stand or walk at all. Any advice?

He may just be super cautious. It sounds like he is ready, so don't worry about it. He will take off soon!

You really need to talk to his pediatrician and express your concerns.

It could just be a delay in development. You just have to work with him and he'll do it when he's ready. My son didn't walk until he was 19 months. My cousin was 24 months when he started walking. My cousin is autistic, though and my son has a significant developmental delay. So possibly watch for other signs along the way. But really you just have to be patient.

My step-daughter will be two in December and she does not walk on her own yet. She has been evaluated, she's just behind some, there really isn't anything wrong with her.

If you are really worried, I would take it up with your pediatrician and see what they say. Good luck! Some babies just go at their own pace!

My son didnt walk till he was 18 months. Although he did have 2 ribs removed when he was 9 months old.

but I do know perfectly healthy kids who didnt walk till 18 months. I wouldnt be concerned.
