It depends.
Are all my bills paid? Did I put money in savings? etc

Assuming it was your own child and we're talking about Christmas, I chose $200-250. That's what we spend on DS (and by no means is all of it toys, we tend to buy a lot of clothes and call those presents, too).

Personally,I have a 4 year old and I spent about 200.00 total. I got dress up items. If kids have too many toys they get bored of them easily because they want to move on to the next one out of curiousity. Keep saving and spend as little as you can.

I dont really budget for xmas. I just kinda start shopping in october with the misc fund and whatever we have by xmas cool. Her birthday is in Nov as well. For xmas this year I probably have about 3-400 already put into it. She just turned 3.

I don't see why the amount in savings is relevant, or wether you've paid bills.

It's obvious that it would be the amount after paying bills, and putting savings away....

My daughter is 3.5, this year for Xmas I have spent around $650. She's getting a trampoline, swing set and IPod Touch.

Next year I plan to get her a massive pool and a little motorbike or quad bike, she'll be 4.5 then.

My daughter is turning 4 in January and my DH just asked me this.
I don't want to her a bunch of toys just a couple big things and like always clothes and shoes she is a diva so clothes make her happy lol
She is our only child so we usually spend about 500 for Xmas on her
Then her bday is January so she gets a bunch of crap.
But if you have only about 1,000 I would say around 200

I have more than $1,000 to spend I just don't want to wipe out my savings on Christmas.

But she's my only child also and I'd like to get her whatever she wants.
