freaking out a little

I will be 39 weeks tomorrow, I went in today for lab results and found out I have preeclampsia. The doctor wants to see me twice a week now, have two stress tests a week and I have to do the whole 24 hour urine collection again. I read stuff online about it and just keep freaking myself out more.

You broke the first rule.. never google ANYTHING.

If you're 39 weeks, this all seems a little crazy. lol

I would do the NST and the urine, but tell your doctor you'll see him on the flip side...........   Do you have a blood pressure cuff at home?

lol it's either google or my pregnancy book and they both get me going.

I don't have a b/p cuff

I'm surprised your dr isn't inducing you right now. We found out I had pre eclampsia at my 37th week appointment and I was sent over to L&D to be induced right away.

see and that's what we thought he was going to do. On Thursday when MY doctor checked me out she was really worried about it. I went in today just for the results and to see what we were going to do because she was acting like they would induce me but this doctor seems to think everything will be better if we just sit and wait

Sitting and waiting can lead to death! I can't believe that dr is just letting you wait it out!
I was told that if my test results ever come back positive, I won't be going over 37w. If I'm already past 37w, I'll be in the hospital most likely later that day delivering.

I know a lady who had two c-sections cause of pre-e. First was emergency, second dr planned it. Both babies were early cause of pre-e.

That dr sounds a little irrisponsible, from what I've heard from dr's. I'd call your dr and talk to her about it!

I got pre-e at 33 weeks with DD and was put on bedrest then induced at 37 weeks. With my son I got it at 31 weeks and he was born a few days later because it developed into eclampsia. You're doctor probably isn't worried if your bp isn't too high plus with you being 39 weeks. Mine was 230/150 when I got on my life flight to a bigger hospital where they could take care of me better and had a NICU (don't have one in our tiny town)
Just call L & D and tell them you'd feel more comfortable being monitored by them : )

I just wish he wasn't the only ob in town right now. I live in a small town and we have two obgyns that come and go.

I would definitely have a talk with him and let him know you don't want to take any risks. I can't believe he wouldn't just induce you since your already 39 weeks! pre e can be so dangerous to wait it out  

I have another appointment tomorrow along with an ultrasound and stress test so maybe he will change his mind or something.
If not, I'm going to bring one of my outspoken friends with me for back up

the past few weeks my BP has been high but not protein in my urine.

My dr said if my BP is still high next week at my 39 week appt she wants to induce. I'm hoping it's not still high because I'd perfer to just wait till DD is ready to come out.


you're dr is crazy. you're so close to your due date I don't see why he/she wouldn't induce just to avoid complications.
