Amitriptyline,,,,

Have any of you mamas ever taken it? My doctor prescribed it to me today for my headaches. I heard it makes you sleepy, did it make you too sleepy? Like were you able to wake up and tend to your child in the middle of the night? I just worry about that aspect of it.

Have you heard of tompamax for headaches? its also good for depression aniexty and weightloss i guess... but no i havent heard of that lol

NO. Don't even start that smurf. I'm on topamax and dying to get off of it. I'm on it for partial complex seizures/mood control. Smurf sucks.

Yea, this is similar to Topamax. The name brand is called Elavil.

I hated it. I slept way too hard on it & had the worse hangover. But I have known people who loved it.

Vanatrip. I took it for depression once. It didn't make me
Sleepy, that I can recall. But I'm getting off ALL meds because I'm sick of being trapped in them.

I just stopped high dose prazosin for severe PTSD nightmares. Efffff all of it

Eeek, I can't be sleeping like that on it....I co-sleep and yea no, that would not be smart lol....I am trying to slowly transition her in to her crib though, so hopefully soon she sleeps on her own.

Because it makes me shaky when I don't take it, and it made my headaches worse. And I always feel like smurf. Absolute smurf. Then they just up my dose. -___- I hate them all, lol. I have an MRI on Wednesday for tumor check, and just had another EEG last week. So hopefully I can be cleared.

My OB thinks its all bullsmurf anyways. I'm TTC and they just wanna keep me medicated when there's no need. All the tests are coming back fine. I can't wait to be done!

I tale topamax and amitryptiline. i love both. also i have lost a bunch of weight on topamax. only problem is birthcontrol can be affected by it.

I took it before for 6 months it was ok made me a little manic, im on it again but a lower dosage, what dont you like?

I was on amitriptyline for nerve pain as a teenager and I don't remember ill effects. :/ But that was a long time ago.

Topamax, though...omg. I've been on it for about three months and Im getting off it now. I've had a headache nonstop for the last nine months, and topamax isn't helping. It has completely cut my appetite. I haven't been hungry once since I started taking it. I am queasy at best all the time. The soles of my feet have that pins and needles tingling. I am foggier than I was before, and the headaches themselves are doing a number on me as it is. I've lost 20 pounds on it, which I could afford to lose, but losing it because food is revolting and I cannot stand to eat pretty much anything other than yogurt? Not as good. And the headaches are just getting worse even on it. So I am being weaned off it and heading to a neurologist consult when I can get in.

Right? My toes and fingers and and legs are always numb. No appetite. Headache all the time. Just sucks. I always feel like smurf. Once my MRI comes back clean like my EEG did I'm getting weaned off of it.

I think topamax was originaly for seizures and epilipsey. so there are other drugs like imatrex that work better i think. they are much more expensive though.
