Sister Wives

posted 19th Nov
I know a lot of you had to have seen this show at some point. I'm addicted to it. but the question has been burning in my mind...how? From what I understand the wives aren't bisexual. Every marriage is separate and no sharing takes place. How does that work though?!
Are any of you in relationships like that? I could never do it, but I'm completely interested in how others do it or why someone would choose it.

Its their religion. Every relationship is separate they don't even discuss each others sex lives.

It is very simple...the man sleeps with each woman on turns. The women are not sexual with each other. They are all wives to the same man, not sexual partners for each other.

I have not seen the show, but that is the usual polygamist arrangement.

I understand the way they have their time split up. It's just crazy yet totally interesting to me. I've known polygamists before but they were all romantically involved.
Poor guy. He has not just 1 bitching female to deal with. He's got 4! Lol I love the new wife though.

Way to judge

OP, from what I can tell, I guess they consider themselves to be one big family, but the wives are not married to each other. Just the man.

If everyone was involved with everyone thats not polygamy. Polyamory would be multiple partners with everyone knowing and sharing.

Oo they always said they were polygamists. I obviously know nothing on the subject lol. It's just so interesting. Kind of cool honestly. The closeness they all have.
If its illegal to be married to more than 1 person in Utah how did he do that? Or is that a new law?

He is only legally married to one wife (the first Meri) the others are more of a commitment but not legal marriages.

Yeah, I think they had a commitment ceremony or a civil union or something like that.
