re: Stopping parenting payments.

Not sure why I would expect anybody to pay for my children's things except me and my husband.

So yeah, I would say it's fair.

We get paid a certain amount a fortnight, if we have partners the amount is based on their income, so if we have a crappy week of work i get a little bit of money to make ends meet, I dont see the problem with it

Really if I went out and got a job right now, most if not ALL that money would go on childcare!

no it wouldn't ... I have my son in day 4 days a week and pay $89 a week after CCB and CCR which everyone is entitled to unless they earn a joint $120,000

Wait.. what? If you can't make it on one salary, there's no reason to stay at home. If you need two to make it, get a job. I don't really think the government should pay you to stay at home...

Good! If you can be trained or given a skill, even with a disability, I think you should be grateful for the opportunity to be self reliant and earn your own living. I wish the US had more of that kind of mentality.
It feels ridiculously entitled to me for you to expect the government to pay you to be a SAHP to a child who is in school full time.

Excellent. Here if you have a foot problem you may be able to get the system to declare you disabled and eligible for years of governemnt support. it may be for the rest of your life.

Does Australia not have childcare help? Like government programs that help pay your childcare? it seems to me it'd make more sense to have THAT kind of assistance so that you could work, rather than the government paying for you to stay home.
