Your SO, or your mom?

Say you're throwing a party at your house for your will be 4 year old. You know he'll mess up everything you do as soon as your done because, lets face it, he's curious. Of course, but...we can't have this! haha Sooo...

Do you ask your SO to take your son out so your mom can help you set up and decorate because you know she'll be more helpful?

or:

Do you ask your mom to take your son out so your SO can do any lifting (prob none), but mainly so he won't feel out of the loop?

Have them trade off.

SO to take him. But that's mainly because i dont like my son going places alone with my mother. She thinks that you need to spank for every little thing and is always trying to spat his hands or butt. So i would rather him go with my SO and actually have fun.

Eh, the party is at 2, so he'll be back by 1...only really from like 9 or 10 to 1. Not long enough to trade off, IMO.

I would ask SO, mainly because he likes to skirt out of work ("girly" things like this) and is not a big help with decorating and such.

I'd have my SO take my kid and have my mom help me. Mainly because I don't trust my mom, but I'm assuming since having your child go with your mom is an option that you don't have any issues like that, so really either way. If your mom will be more helpful, have her stay and help.

My SO would leave the setting up to me and my mom. He knows we're way better decorators   haha

aww I'm sorry. We are actually still living with my mom while I'm in school so they have a really close relationship. He would end up having fun with either.It's just a question of...how much do I really care if SO feels left out as long as the party looks good. haha

My mom would be more helpful, yes.

My mom is very good with Jayson, so that isn't a worry for me.

And yes, trading off would be a pain because it's a short time.

I would probably let him go with my SO, regardless though. My grandmother, or mother, would be more helpful either way... when it comes to decorating anyway.

lol anyone who is staying with someone becomes a pain in the ass..I understand! I'll probably bribe him to take Jayson. I'll also feel less guilty that way.

Ask him what he wants to do. Maybe he doesn't even want to decorate.

Maybe soften the "blow" if your worried about hurting SO's feelings and say something like "it could be special time for just the two of you".
