The tv show "Catfish"...vent

See, this is so typical and I LOVE watching the show for these reasons: Teens and young adults out there need to know what they're up against when they meet people online!!! People aren't always who they say they are soo why would you "fall" for someone or date someone you have never even seen on webcam or anything??? and even if you met up with them how do you know they're not a pervert or anything??? I mean, if you have seen them on webcam and talk to them everyday and everything, I mean at least get a background check done on them before taking any plunge!!! Seriously, it could mean YOUR LIFE!!!! There are predators on the net just looking for their next victim and its so sad that teens these days are sooo comfortable with giving out their info or so naive to go and meet up with someone they have no clue about??!!! Thats why im so thankful for tv shows like this, maybe it will open up the eyes of many!!!! At least I pray so!!! It's a mothers worst nightmare to lose her children.... especially by being murdered!!!!!!!

Just saying... I met my fiancé who is my best friend and father of my children online. On Facebook, through mutual friends we both knew well. I wasn't psychotic enough to run a background check on him, lmfao.

Doubt it will make a difference. If the show "to catch a predator" doesnt deter them from meeting strangers online, I doubt this one will.

MTV doesn't generally air shows to "open the eyes of many."
It entertainment, and that's what people will view it as.

i met my husband on a chat line, we had talked and sent each other pics, so we knew what we looked like. i agree it can be dangerous, but i never ran a background check on him lol, we just met in a pubic place the first time we met. not all people you meet on thoes sites are all creeps and pervs
