Recovery after getting tubes tied

Those of you that have gotten your tubes tied.....how long was your recovery. I plan on getting mine done at 6weeks PP and didn't know how much longer I would have to wait to get back to work. I wanted to start work as soon as possible to try to get some money for Christmas for the kiddos.

First, I had a REALLY hard recovery. Most people isn't as hard as mine was. It took me a good week before I could take care of my kids on my own. If you have an easy job I'd say a week. However, I know people who were 100% feeling fine the next day.

why not get it done when you have your kid? or do essure?

I think mine was a week or so. I can't really remember but I know it was a short one.

Don't do essure it can cause more damage then good. A friend if mine had to have a partial hysterectomy because of it.

ahh. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy so I'm no help LOL

This,. It seems like a great idea, but there realyl are just not enough long term studies IMO.

I had my son Nov 1st. He was an emergency csection bc my VBAC failed. The doctor was supposed to tie them while she was in there, but apparently she didnt have the time. Also, the other OB at the office said its more effective if you wait the 6 weeks (not sure why though).

I dont know what essure is.....sorry if I sound stupid :-/

my cousin got the essure. She now has problems with to much bleeding and severe pain. I guess one of the coils went somewhere it wasn't supposed to.
