baby story edited sorry

well my due date was originally june 1st and i hoped and prayed he would wait until around then to be born b/c i wanted to finish the semester of classes b/c i had already paid for them. my doctor was not confident i would make it out of april without a baby. so here's the WHOLE story.
at my 20 week u/s they rushed me to a high risk doctor b/c they thought i needed a cerclage. that doctor told me that as long as i took it easy he didn't want to put the cerclage in b/c i was past 14 weeks and the risks outweighed the benefits. my cervix was really short though.
at 27 weeks i believe i woke up in intense pain and couldn't go back to sleep and i had to go to the hospital. they said i had a bladder infection and kept me overnight and gave me medication and everything. 
one week later i received a phone call from my doctor's office telling me i needed to get to the hospital to get steroid shots b/c my cervix was even shorter according to the u/s the hospital had done and i was probably going to be having my baby soon. they also set me up with a private nursing company that inserted a terbutaling pump in my leg and i had to be hooked up to a contraction monitor twice a day for an hour each time. 
i was on the terbutaline pump from 28-35 weeks (my 15% of the insurance is going to be $40 a day!) two days after i got off of the pump i started having intense back pain so i went to the hospital and they gave me a shot of terbutaline and sent me home with terbutaline pills. 
at 37 weeks i went to the hospital with another case of intense back pain and they said it looked like it was time but right after getting there the pain stopped. so i went home and was told to take the pills for one more day. at every appointment my doctor kept saying i don't think you will make it much longer i can't believe you've made it this far.
i stopped the pills and i did not have a single contraction. i was ready to go to the hospital. i had my bag packed, confident that since i wasn't on the pills anymore i would be having my baby that day. 
at my 38 week appointment my doctor was going to set up an induction date but my baby had moved up into a -3 station so he changed his mind and said he would do an induction date at my next appointment the next wednesday.

THE DAY
may 27th i was having some weird discharge stuff and i felt kind of funny but i still wasn't having any contractions or braxton hicks or anything so my husband went to work even though he kept saying i would rather just stay home if you think something is going to happen (he works nights). but i told him this baby wasn't going anywhere until the next day when the doctor would set the induction date. he left for work at 10:30pm. our 3 year old daughter was really hyper that night and would not go to bed at all so i was spending a ton of time trying to get her to bed. at midnight i was laying on my couch watching tv and a few minutes later i heard this loud POP and i felt it too. i was scared to move. i just laid there for a few seconds b/c i didn't want to accept the fact that my water had just broken, but i also didn't want it to get on my nice couch!
i got up and ran to the bathroom and water gushed out of me. i called my mom and told her to come pick me up and told my daughter to get ready and shoved a washcloth in my pants. my gush of water was just a little bit and then i don't think anything else really came out.
we got to the hospital about 20 minutes after my water had broken and i was starting to get light back contractions. i got changed into the gown and got into the bed and answered all of their questions and thought well i should have taken a nap today, and waited on my husband. a few minutes later the contractions suddenly became unbearable. the nurse checked me said yes my water had indeed broken and i was dilated to a 6 and 90% effaced. i said i want the epideral as soon as possible because  i do not want to progress too far to not get it. they paged the epideral lady and started me on ivs to make sure i was hydrated enough. at this time i was in intense pain. i was almost crying when my husband finally got there from work between 12:45 and 1. 
the epideral lady took forever to get there it seemed but they said at least she was in the hospital. i was freaking out b/c it felt like i had to push and it was so uncomfortable. it felt like i had to push. they checked again and said i was an 8 and the lady finally showed up and i was begging her to hurry. they just kept saying do not focus on the pressure and since i couldn't sit up they had me lay on my side and she gave me the epi. i had had one with my daughter and while this one didn't hurt to get either it was a lot more uncomfortable probably because i was on my side. i was flipping out though b/c i could still feel my legs and i did not want to feel labor and when i had my daughter i couldn't feel my legs but they said it was normal. 
they checked me again and said i was fully dilated and they finally called my doctor to come in. it was so uncomfortable b/c even though it didn't hurt i could still feel his head. they told me they were going to do a trial push to see how far down he was and then things happened really fast. they held things off as long as possible waiting on the doctor and so the nurse actually started things and the doctor came in and just had me keep pushing. they started sounding worried though b/c whenever i was pushing my son's heart rate would drop really low so they were concerned for him, and they kept trying to monitor him better but none of their machines would work. so finally the doctor said we can't just keep waiting we have to get this done with or without the machines and told them to page respiratory down and he began to use the vacuum. after just one or two more pushes my son was born.
my husband's face though was horrible at this time. when the baby was born he was completely purple and had the cord wrapped around his neck. my husband was so worried but they said it was normal and they sent respiratory away. he was born at 1:52 am and he probably would have been born earlier if the doctor had gotten there sooner and the machines wouldn't have been acting up. so less than 2 hours after my water broke.
he weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long with a full head of hair. his apgar scores were 8 and 9. 
he has been a fairly easy baby except he wants to eat all of the time and since i'm b/f it consumes a lot of my time, but he only eats for 10 minutes at a time and then falls back asleep. he also basically has refused to pee since getting circumsized it seems. he hates to pee and tries to not pee at all.

congrats, sounds like a rough pregnancy, but def worth it in the end, right?!!
